Have you seen the attendance sheet?

I just presented a Kindle class to a group of students last night in Two Harbors Minnesota. It went very well, except...

someone took the attendance sheet home in their pile of papers by mistake!

That sheet is the only way I have the email addresses and other info about each attendee. If they don't register for the pdf of the manual used in class, I try to reach out to them with a reminder via that email address.

I always learn from things and in the future I will print this sheet on colored paper and it will be on a clipboard so it won't get mixed in with other papers.

For now, if you are at this blog and see this note, please fax it to me at: 888,
Two Fortyone and 4031 (listed this way to avoid spammers).

Make it a great day!

Get KINDLE PUBLISHING SYSTEM Updates at No Additional Cost

SAVE YOUR "ATTENDANCE CODE"!
If you've been to my In-Class Seminars and Workshops (or Community Education Classes), or you are an Online Student, save your attendance code. From time to time I update the manual and I may make it available to you at no additional cost!

If you've been to a recent class, this is how you'll get your materials. If you've attended an event in the past, use your past attendance code (IN CAPS) in both boxes, and I'll send you the updated materials AT NO ADDITIONAL COST!

How to get your complete “YOUR FIRST KINDLE BOOK” course materials:

YOU NEED TO REGISTER at: www.terscott.com/getpublished.

If you’ve attended a live Ter Scott class, complete the form but be sure to use the CODE given to you in the class materials so you won’t be charged again when you register. Click “submit” and your pdf. file of the course manual will soon be on its way.

If you are registering online and have not been in a live Ter Scott class, complete the form, return to the page by clicking the back button, and then click on the “buy now” button at the bottom of the form. You pay the low subscription price to get the materials without having to attend class.

·        A copy of the manual; a pdf file format will be emailed to you.

·        You may receive updates from time to time email which will show you more in-depth things that we don’t have time to do in class or include in the manual.

·        You have unlimited access for your questions by me via email for up to 3 months, barring any unforeseen situations. You’ll get my personal email (with instructions) with the manual (or from your in-class materials).

·        You’ll get continual (for as long as the blog is live) ongoing answers to questions etc. via this blog: http://writepublishprofitnow.blogspot.com.

Because of anti-spamming regulations and that I believe in “permission marketing”, to get all of the above, you need to register for them at: www.terscott.com/getpublished. You do not automatically get the materials from attending a class; you must register. If you are having difficulty, please email me at the email address you received in class or leave a comment on this blog.

You are welcome to visit my other blog that was created for my online students: http://publishyourkindlebook.blogspot.com/.

Add comments on Amazon and Widgets to Your Blog

I've encouraged my readers who are creating a Kindle (or other book format) to have a web site and blog that relates to it. Because of this, I'm offering these steps outlining how to get traffic to your blog and site by first submitting reviews about other Amazon products and how to add an Amazon Ferris wheel or Carousel widget to your blog or site.

In one of my recent blog posts I mentioned a great book that I read by Sylvester Stallone (yes he is not only “Rambo” but he does write and writes well). In the Master Blog Class, I speak about writing reviews in Amazon and linking your “signature” to your website or blog. Here I will show you how I do so and how I add an Amazon Widget to my blog or site; then you can follow the steps.
For anyone who registered in the MASTER BLOG CLASS course, you can get this outline complete with visuals by emailing me at the email address you have on file from your materials. Be sure to use AMAZON WIDGET in the subject line so I or my staff will open it without deleting it. If you came upon this blog via the world wide web highway, you may get it at no cost too! Just go to www.terscott.com/masterblogclass and submit your information in the “register” area and place: AMAZON WIDGET in the coupon code box. On the other hand, better still, register to be a MASTER BLOG CLASS member and get everything for only $29.00; students will tell you that it is worth every penny!
In this post I am showing you the steps without the visuals, and much of the content; just to get you going while you wait for your Pdf. file.
First, I went to www.Amazon.com and did a search for Sylvester Stallone (in books):
I then got a list of books by and about him.
Since I already have the book, I will leave my review and then get a Carousel Widget which will display on my blog(s) so if someone wants to purchase it, it’s available with a simple “click” on the ad widget. The widget will bring the person to Amazon and if a purchase is made, I get some money.
I will first create an honest review.
I click on the title and a more detailed page opens.
I click on “customer reviews” and another page opens.
Now for the fun part; the place where I can give my “two cents worth” and link my name to my website and hopefully bring some traffic to my site or blog. I click now on the “create you own review” button.
I wasn’t logged in so I first get the log in screen.
Now I can create my review!
Wow, you can even do a video review; cool. I don’t have time now but I certainly will do so in the future. For now I will write and submit a review. Because I don’t want to be “embarrased” by having misspellings in the reveiw that the “world sees” I follow my tip that I share with my followers: compose everything in a word type of document (not worrying about editing until completed so as to let the “creative juices” flow) to be able to catch any glaring spelling or grammatical errors. (I even quickly went online to my friend: dictionary.com to see if I spelled grammatical correctly).
Here are my comments:
As a person who sits at a desk writing and showing others how to write, blog and market via the Internet, I was concerned about exercising. When I came across this book I was first intrigued that the book was written by a “Rambo” type but then thought, “well who else but someone with a great physique to write a book about getting into shape”? I got it and learned so much. This guy gives fit facts in a funny way that makes this an easy read and a good work out manual. Well done!
I will now post my comments with my website displayed and link my name to my blog. (While still in Microsoft Word, I highlight my name, right click to display the action box, click on hyperlink and then add the blog address. The box closes and my name is now hyperlinked. I now copy and paste my comments with my name and website to the Amazon comment box. I then click to submit my review and get this box that states my review is being processed. Here is a tip, if Amazon moderates all reviews before publishing, we should moderate the comments on our blogs before posting; just a thought.
Now I am not sure if the links on my name or website will remain or if they’ll include them at all. I will check back in a few days. You can look to see by going to Amazon and searching for the book and then clicking on comments to find me. The reason I’m doing this (and you should) is to get our name out on the Internet as another opportunity for people to find us when doing a search. Here is an example of another review I did. To find it quickly for this article, I did a word search in Google with this: Ter Scott Dave Lindahl Amazon. Here is what came up:
Here’s what that one looks like on Amazon:
*When checking back, it appears that the links will not show here at Amazon. However, I’m leaving the steps on how to do this here because these are the steps you’ll use when posting a review at other places such as on Internet Yellow Pages etc.
Now I add an Amazon Carousel Widget to my blog (you can do the same steps to add to your site; just copy the same HTML code and use whatever steps necessary to add the HTML code to your site).
I scroll to the bottom of Amazon page and find “Make Money With Amazon”.
I click on “Become an Affiliate” link. (If you are not yet an affiliate, simply follow the sign up steps to do so). This opens a new window; at the top of the page are tabs, I click on the “widgets” tab.
There are many to choose but I click on the Carousel type.
I then place the words: “Sylvester Stallone” in the search box to find products. I then click the “go” button.
I click on the “add product” button which places the selected items to the right of the page. These will be added to my carousel widget.
I notice that the book isn’t coming up in the search so I change from “Amazon.com” to “Books” and click on the “go” button; now this is more like it:
I chose a few books and a few videos (because again, we always need to “consider our audience” and offer what we think they would want).
I click on the “Next step” button.
A preview now shows. I realize that I want a “Ferris wheel” style that is a vertical “look” rather than the “Carousel” which is the horizontal format; you choose what you want to fit into the design of the blog.
OK, that’s better. I do want the products shuffled so that box remains checked. I will show the title but change it to: Sylvester Stallone’s Best; hopefully people will use this search term and will find my blog!
I keep the default size and here it is:
I click on the “Add to Webpage” button (even though I’ll add it to a blog). A window opens with a bunch of HTML code, I copy it and add it to by blog site.
To add this to blogger, first I copy the code. I then sign in to blogger, find the blog I want to add this widget, open the design page, click on layout, click on add a gadget, choose the html option and paste this code into the box and click save. (If these steps within blogger are unclear, consider registering for the MASTER BLOG CLASS, which includes a pdf manual on how to do this or if you already have, refer to the manual). Voila! There is my Ferris wheel gadget!
Now you know how you can get more traffic to your blog (or site) by writing a review in Amazon for a book (or other product). And, I’ve shown how to add a Carousel or Ferris wheel widget to your blog.
Make it a great day!

It doesn't matter what one does for a "living" workwise, we are all "sales" people. We even "sell" our ideas and viewpoints to others everyday in our social lives. Here with your Kindle books and other similar products, hopefully you will become successful in selling your wares.

I'm currently working on a new eBook which will be titled something like: The Seven Steps to a Sale and the readers of this blog have the opportunity to resell it and profit from it. If you'd like to know when it's ready and more details, just leave your contact info at the end of this post. (It won't be published).

For now, here's Chapter 2 so you'll get and idea as to what it will be like.

Make it a great day!

Ter

7 steps to a sale; step 2:
We’ve greeted our customer and now we need to create a relationship. Actually this relationship has already started because people make a decision whether they like us or not in the first 7 seconds. In this  first step you’ve talked a bit about the other person; what they do and what they are wearing, or something. Don’t move from step one to step two if you’ve not done this.  When you’ve done this sufficiently, you have then earned the “right” to talk a bit about your self  and your product or service.
So many formulas such as this “Seven Steps to a Sale” are similar to others that I think there are probably just a few and they apply to many. For instance in presenting a speech we first greet our audience and then open with an introduction. Here in step 2, we can use the same introduction techniques in a speech in building rapport.
In an introduction, I usually want to “knock someone out of their preoccupation”; whatever it is. In the case of a speech or workshop many times the audience doesn’t want to be there because they were forced to attend by the boss, or minimally they are thinking about something else. Many times when someone is “looking”, they are on the defensive and have their guard up. I find ways to get them to open up and relate and just feel better about being with me.
In the sales arena many sales people think that this is the time to slap the person on the back, speak loudly and use the typical “loud” jokes, etc. This is where I first “consider my audience” and mirror them. If they are reserved, I speak in a soft reserved tone. If they have there hands moving in an animated way, I do the same.
Do a Google search using the phrase: “Speech Introductions” and you’ll find many techniques to introduce a speech, and you can use them in this stage of the sales process. The best tip I would offer is to arouse interest and capture the attention.
Next we’ll explore step  three: qualifying the prospect and his/her needs.

Get Paid to Advertise with LINKSHARE

Creating, writing and publishing your Kindle book, blogs and ebooks all act to improve your bottom line and bring income to you. Today I want to show you a great way to add to these profits. You Kindle book could have a few afilliate links, but certainly your ebook (that you sell on your site or eBay, etc.) could have afilliate links if used sparingly (your reader doesn't want to be subjected to a blantant catalog of ads; they want good content).

If you have a blog or website you surely want to use afilliate links. One place to get these afilliate links are at LINKSHARE (you can click on the LINKSHARE advertisement on this blog). Go there and sign up. Then you'll see advertisers that "make sense"; are relevant to what your messsage is and you can apply to get their ads. When approved, it's a simple thing to copy the link and place it in your blog, ebook, site, or whatever.

If you have queestions or comments, please leave them below.

Make it a great day!

Some Great Tools for Publishing Your Book

4 25 12
Hello everyone! Recently I presented another Publish Your Content into a Kindle LIVE Class. One of the students (Matt) offered some sites that offer tools that might be of value to you. Although I’m aware of a few, others were new. Hey, that rhymes!

Anyway, here they are along with the live (clickable links) to go and check each out.
If you have any sources that you think may be helpful let me know by submitting your comments after this or any post in this blog. Which reminds me, when and if you see anything that you feel would make the manual better, please let me know. Remember too that when you sign up for the course (either via an in class workshop or found this online; you can register at the right) you get 3 months email contact with me.

Here’s those links.

B&N has a similar system called PubIt.  (I will probably “add” this to this course at some time. Stay tuned to this blog by signing up as a “follower” at the right for info if you’ve not yet done so).

Openoffice.org, AbiWord, (these are similar to Microsoft Word so you can create a “word type” of document to load up to Amazon Kindle; it’s free so there are no excuses for not getting your content up and making your fame and fortune).
Paint.Net is also a free product.
Go to the above sites and explore; have fun. Thanks again Matt for this.

Make it a great day!
